Many people noticed that the Red Hot Chili Peppers were not really playing their instruments, but were merely miming it because their instruments were not plugged in.

In a letter, bass player Flea explained that the NFL would not let the Red Hot Chili Peppers play live because there wasn't enough time to do sound checks to make everything sound perfect.

In that same letter, he also said: "The Red Hot Chili Peppers stance on any sort of miming has been that we will absolutely not do it. The last time we did it (or tried to) was in the late '80s."

Well, lucky for you, "The Free Beer & Hot Wings Morning Show" has found that video.

Watch the guys perform the Stevie Wonder classic "Higher Ground" from their album "Mother's Milk" at Club MTV in 1989 as they lip sync and mime playing their instruments horribly.
