Normally when you think March...you think...damn its too cold to be on a motorcycle and now March has brought our first motorcycle crash of the year.

According to FOX 17, a Kent County motorcyclist who was hoping to get a jump on the riding season wound up being hospitalized Sunday night after his first ride turned into the seasons first crash.

That accident happened in Kent County Sunday evening around 7:30 at the intersection of Cascade Road and Forest Hills Avenue.

The 48-year-old female driver from Muskegon Heights was traveling east on Cascade Road and was going to try and head north onto Forest Hills Avenue, when the 39-year-old male motorcycle who was heading west on Cascade Road collided with the car.

The motorcyclist from Grand Rapids was wearing a helmet but was taken to the hospital and is said to be in stable condition.

The female  who was driving the car was not injured in the crash nor was alcohol said to be a factor in the reason for the crash.
