The Ferris State University football team defeated Minnesota State 42-25 late Saturday to advance to the NCAA Division II championship game.

The Bulldogs rode the arm of quarterback Jayru Campbell and the feet of Marvin Campbell to propel themselves to the victory in Mankato, MN over the hometown Mavericks.

Jayru Campbell threw for 251 yards and two touchdowns while Marvin Campbell (no relation) ran for 60 yards and two touchdowns as Ferris blew open a close game in the second half to advance to their first ever Division II title game.

The undefeated Bulldogs (15-0) will square off against Valdosta State of Georgia, who defeated Notre Dame of Ohio 30-24 to punch their ticket to the title game.

The Blazers are also undefeated at 13-0. The two teams will square off next Saturday at 4pm in McKinney, T in the D-2 title game,which be broadcast nationally on ESPN-U.
