Congratulations to Grand Rapids Public Schools City High Middle School. They have been ranked the #1 high school in the state of Michigan by U.S. News & World Report.
Not only did City High Middle win the coveted ranking for Michigan, but U.S. News ranks them the 18th Best High School in the entire country. WOW! Quite an honor.
U.S. News & World Report said:
“Scholars have the opportunity to take International Baccalaureate coursework and exams. The IB participation rate at City High Middle School is 100%. The total minority enrollment is 50%, and 48% of scholars are economically disadvantaged.”
In addition, City High Middle School was the first school in the area to offer the coveted International Baccalaureate Middle Years and Diploma Programme and has consistently been ranked among the top high schools in America. City High Middle School was also named a National Blue Ribbon School by the U.S. Department of Education in 2019.
Seriously, there is a lot to proud of in West Michigan education.
U.S. News & Report ranked East Grand Rapids High School #13 in the state, and #548 nationally.
Black River Public Schools in Holland was ranked #14, and #655 nationally.
Forest Hills Northern High School came in #21 in the state, and #768 nationally.

The West Michigan Aviation Academy was ranked #26 in the state, and #913 nationally.
Forest Hills Central High School is #28, and,
Forest Hills Eastern High School is #29 in the state.
