Detroit Tigers’ Miggy To Say Goodbye To Baseball After 2023 Season
Detroit Tigers' star Miguel Cabrera will be saying goodbye to baseball after a long career after the 2023 season.
Miguel Cabrera Debut in 2003
Miguel Cabrera wasn't always a Detroit Tiger. He got his start in Major League Baseball in 1999 when the Florida Marlins signed him at the age of 16 to their minor league system. In 2003 at the age of 20, he began his Major League career at a Marlin.
Miguel Cabrera Becomes A Member Of The Detroit Tigers
In 2008, Cabrera signed with the Detroit Tigers and he has been there ever since.
Cabera, also known as "Miggy", is not only loved and respected by fans but many other players and coaches in Major League Baseball.
Miguel Cabrera Achievements
Miggy is the third MLB player in history to have a career batting average over 300, knock 500 balls over the fence as of 2021, and in 2022 he had crossed the 3,000 hits mark. He is in good company with Hank Aaron and Willie Mays and I would expect Miggy to be in the MLB Hall of Fame in the years to come.
Miggy has a World Series ring with the Marlins but has yet to return with the Detroit Tigers.
Miguel Cabrera Will Retire at End of the 2023 Season
There's no doubt that Cabrera will be a future hall of fame but he has one more season with the Detroit Tigers before he puts his bat and glove away for good. According to FOX 17, Cabrera said, "I think it's time to say goodbye to baseball."
