Ever Welcomed Someone By Grabbing Their Genitals? A Michigan Man Did
A Detroit man has been arrested for welcoming men by grabbing their genitals at a welcome center on I-75.
What Ever Happened to a Friendly Handshake?
For as long as I can remember, a handshake is a great way to welcome someone when you first meet them.
Normally on most freeways that lead into Michigan, you see a "Welcome to Pure Michigan" sign that is usually followed up with a welcome center rest area a few miles later.
Michigan welcome centers and rest areas were created to provide travel and tourism information as visitors entered the state. Obviously, you are traveling if you are entering the Great Lakes state so a stop to stretch your legs, maybe use the restroom, grab a snack at the vending machine, or take the dog for a little walk are other great reasons to make a stop. If you are fatigued from driving they can also be used as a place to rest up before you begin driving again. There is no actual person that is there to welcome you.
Detroit Man Shows an Odd Way of Welcoming Visitors at a Welcome Center
A Detroit man was at a welcome center in Monroe Township randomly grabbing men by their genitals in the middle of the day near northbound I-75.
According to WXYZ, several people called 911 to let authorities know there was a man grabbing genitals at the welcome center. The 32-year-old man grabbed an 80-year-old man and dragged him into the bathroom and sexually assaulted him. Others at the rest area stepped in and the suspect fled the scene.
Police who were called to the scene wound up chasing the guy into Ohio with the help of the Erie Township Police, and the suspect's vehicle ran out of gas. He was easily apprehended and then extradited back to Lucas County Jail where the suspect is facing several charges of sexual assault, fleeing, and eluding police.
