A six-year-old boy found a gun in the house that was not locked up and wound up shooting his one-year-old brother not once, but twice.
You Can't Have Unlocked Guns Around With Children in the House
I understand that people have guns at home for personal protection but if there are kids around guns should not be easily accessed. A gun lock like the one above is perfect for this.
Companies make individually locked gun cases or gun safes but by no means should a child be able to locate a gun or the ammunition in a home and especially a loaded firearm used for protection.
Not having a gun properly locked or in a gun safe is how kids get guns and bring them to schools or wherever and even worse, someone gets shot
6 Yr Old Finds an Unlocked Loaded Gun and Shoots 1 Yr Old Brother Twice
Mom was away visiting a friend while the dad was working on a fence in the backyard when gunshots were fired from inside the house.
Sadly a six-year-old boy found a loaded gun and walked over to where his one-year-old brother was sitting in a baby bounce and shot him once through the cheek and then fired a second shot into the left shoulder.
According to WOOD, the one-year-old is still alive but remains in the hospital. After a search of the home, it was determined the gun was unregistered. The is still an investigation going on but the Wayne County Prosecutor's Office will be looking at whether or not any charges will be filed.
