Central Michigan Chippewas baseball vs. Toledo Rockets baseball (March 2026). Benches cleared after a tense play escalated when a pitcher aggressively shoved a runner following a hard-fought out.
San Diego State Aztecs baseball vs. Washington Huskies baseball (2003). A tense tournament matchup boiled over after a hard tag at home plate sparked a bench-clearing fight.

Brawl Breaks Out During Heated CMU Baseball Matchup
On Sunday, March 22, 2026, Central Michigan Chippewas were playing the Toledo Rockets when in the top of the seventh inning CMUs pitcher Max Hammond tagged forcefully Toledo's batter with a tag out reminiscent of a pro football player hitting another player while out of bounds.
An overzealous tag set off a bench-clearing brawl. According to Central Michigan Life on Facebook, CMU pitcher Max Hammond, Toledo batter Luke Walton, and relief pitcher Ryan Hughes were all ejected from the game.
