Last Sunday's Detroit Lions game against the Chicago Bears has been extensively covered, from surprise celebrity appearances in the stands to a discussion about Lions fans' reactions to Ben Johnson's return to Detroit. The Lions' total pummeling of the Chicago Bears showed that their season opener against the Packers was just a bumpy start, as they finished the game with a final score of 52-21, a 31-point margin.

While many of the Bears players were physically exhausted after the game, especially Caleb Williams, who was sacked four times and pulled in the fourth quarter. But a Bears fan had to suffer more than anyone because of the loss after a bet resulted in him having to run farther than a marathon due to the lopsided score.

TikToker's Bold Pledge

Chase Bandolik, a gym owner and "ultra runner" on TikTok with 90,000 followers, has high hopes for the Chicago Bears this season. So much so, he has made the lofty commitment to run a mile for every point the Bears lose by. On paper, Bandolik's bet doesn't sound too crazy.

Despite the Bears going 5-12 last year, the team did have the 13th-ranked defense in 2024 (370 points allowed) and lost many of their games last season by less than one possession. However, things are off to a bad start this season. A three-point loss to the Vikings in Week 1 was followed by the 31-point loss to the Lions in Week 2.

The Detroit Lions' official TikTok page immediately called Chase out following the loss, and to Chase's credit, he immediately followed through on the promise. Chase got started early in the morning and ran the entire day.

By the time he'd completed a marathon (26 miles), it was dark, and he put on a Hi-Vis vest to run the remaining 5 miles.

He finished running at 10 pm, and for his sake, let's hope the Bears turn things around soon, or this man might not have any legs by the end of the season.
