Broad Leaf Brewery and Spirits Westside Opens on Bridge St.

The food and drink scene on Bridge Street continues to grow!

Recently we told you about Drip Drop Cocktail Room opening up on the street level of 443 Bridge St. NW, in the former home of The Sovengard (which is moving to 1232 Bridge St. NW).

Well, in the lower garden level, Broad Leaf Brewing is opening a second location!

Broad Leaf Brewery + Spirits Westside Now Open

Broad Leaf Brewing opened its first location on the corner of Lake Eastbrook Boulevard and 29th St. in Kentwood in 2019. Co-owners Kris and Jason Spaulding also own Brewery Vivant on Cherry St. SE.

Broad Leaf Brewery and Spirits Westside is set to open for business Nov. 16, 2022.

The pub’s hours are Wednesday and Thursday from 3p.m. to 11p.m, Friday and Saturday 12p.m. to 12a.m. and Sunday 12p.m. to 10p.m.

For opening day, Broad Leaf Brewery and Spirits Westside is offering half off the sale of any to go beer. The first 100 people to order a bowl of noodles will get a complimentary set of customized logoed chopsticks.

Jason tells Grand Rapids Business Journal,

We are super excited to join the energy of amazing restaurants and breweries on the West Side. This new location will allow us to bring what we have been perfecting in Kentwood to the heart of Grand Rapids. We have been able to really innovate with our spirits and continue to make some incredible creative beers that will add to the draw to that part of town.

A New Spot to Grab a Bite and Drink on Bridge Street

In addition to serving Broad Leaf's brews, Broad Leaf Westside follows a similar vibe and theme as their current location in Kentwood which is remaining open, but will offer a different food and cocktail menu.

You'll find a mix of comfort food favorites and Asian inspired street food at Broad Leaf Westside.

Owners say they're "focusing on flavor exploration to the max."

While Broad Leaf Westside's huge outdoor beer garden is closed for the season, outdoor seating will remain available, complete with outdoor heaters, GRBJ reports.
