Two Michigan Cities Ranked Among Top 20 Places to Live in the U.S.

U.S. News and World Report has released a new ranking: The Best Places to Live in the U.S. in 2023-2024.
U.S. News analyzed the 150 most populous metro areas in the country. To make the top of the list, a place had to have good value, be a desirable place to live, have a strong job market, and a high quality of life.
They took into account factors like crime rates, quality of education, quality of healthcare, housing affordability, net migration, unemployment rates, and each city's job market.
The data comes from numerous sources including the U.S. Census Bureau, the FBI, the U.S. Department of Labor, U.S. News' own internal resources, and public surveys.
In Michigan, two cities made it into the Top 20.
Ann Arbor came in at No. 14, dropping three spots from last year.
Grand Rapids came in at No. 20, down four spots from last year.
Other Michigan cities came in further down the list, with Lansing at No. 83, Kalamazoo at No. 90, and Detroit at No. 114.
The very best place to live in the U.S. according to the study?
Green Bay, Wisconsin, came in at No. 1.
