ArtPrize Favorite ‘Intersections’ Back in Grand Rapids
Intersections is the most well-received entry in ArtPrize history and it's making another return appearance in Grand Rapids.
Anila Quayyum Agha's Intersections won the Public Vote at ArtPrize 2014 and was the co-winner of the Juried Grand Prize. It's the only entry to ever win both awards. It's been featured in galleries across the country and has already had a return trip to Grand Rapids, but Intersections' popularity warrants another return visit.
Intersections will open at the Grand Rapids Art Museum on Saturday, May 19.
Anila Quayyum Agha's Intersections and Mirror Variations: The Art of Monir Shahroudy Farmanfarmaian will both remain on view at the GRAM through Aug. 26, 2018. Both artists create work which draw inspiration and create beauty and depth from Islamic tradition and modern abstraction.
During the exhibit, there will also be several related events and programming open to GRAM members and the public, including artist talks, a film screening, drop-in tours and more.
