According to a post on the company's Facebook page, Arcadia Brewing has plans for a new location in downtown Battle Creek.
It is with bittersweet excitement that we will be closing our longstanding brewery in Battle Creek on September 2nd. We are very excited to announce plans for our new location in Downtown Battle Creek soon which will ultimately allow us to continue to be a cultural part of the fabric of this community for the next 21 years, and bring a product, style of service and amenity commensurate with today's Craft Beer enthusiast. Stay connected with us on social media and sign up on website for details."
MLive reports that Arcadia hopes to have the new location open sometime next year.
Tim Suprise, founder and chief executive officer of Arcadia Brewing, told MLive,
"We need to pause, hit 'reset' and find a more suitable space that really lifts the standards that everyone had for us in Battle Creek from the very beginning, back in 1996...The building itself has some structural issues and it wasn't continuing to be tenable for us. We have to get a more appropriate space."
In May 2014, Arcadia opened a location downtown Kalamazoo, which remains open.
There a plans for an Arcadia Ales & Smokehouse location to open next month in Lansing.
