Another Storm and Thousands Without Power
Mother nature doesn't seem to be letting up anytime soon and her latest surge has over 13,000 people without power.
According to WOOD, here is a rundown of counties from the Consumers Energy outage map that shows the majority of families without power across Southwest Michigan:
- Berrien - 3,760
- Branch - 756
- Cass - 345
- Kalamazoo - 924
- St. Joseph - 1,260
- Van Buren County - 878
The Winter Weather Advisory will continue for West Michigan until 1 p.m. according to the National Weather Service. Wind gusts up to 40 mph, 2 to 4 inches of snow and a small amount of ice accumulation for Tuesday night into Wednesday.
The area of I-94 will receive the largest amount of ice accumulation.
Power outages will continue to be a problem with the high winds and ice that causes branches and trees to fall on power lines.
If you spot a downed power line, avoid the line and call 911 immediately and then call Consumers at 800-477-5050.
360 of the 1,000 out of state power crews have stayed behind from last weeks storm to assist in this weeks storm.
