Max Hartley, a mansion-dwelling 19-year-old from Ohio has been charged with attacking the drummer for Def Leppard, Rick Allen. Hartley was on Spring Break and decided to sneak up on Allen while he was taking a smoke outside his hotel, according to a report:

Hartley, from Ohio, was hiding behind a pillar outside the hotel before he rushed at the drummer and knocked him to the ground causing him to hit his head.  Authorities confirmed that Allen 'hit his head on the ground causing injury', with a woman rushing out of the hotel to help him. But Hartley then attacked her, hitting her multiple times and dragging her by her hair before fleeing the area.

The oddest part of the whole story is that 7News actually asked this kid if he was a Def Leppard fan. What kind of sense does that make? Either way, it's not gonna end well for the kid. Since Allen is 59 and missing an arm, the police report states that the offense charge is labeled as "Abuse Elderly or Disabled Adult W/O Great Harm," has since been charged with four counts of criminal mischief which is a felony, and one count of misdemeanor battery and one count of aggravated battery.

I don't know if the kid was going through some form of hysteria, but he just attacked Allen like an animal. I'm sure when Allen woke up that morning he wasn't like..."Let's get rocked today." But this is what happens when love & hate collide. Hartley is foolin' himself if he thinks he's gonna get away with the crime. It's too late for love after all, because Allen wants the kid prosecuted. This should show him you can't just take what you want in life, the press has the photograph to prove it.

The Best Song From Every Def Leppard Album

Underneath it all, they are fans of music. That love and belief in music – other people’s as much as their own, and sometimes more – always seems to bring Def Leppard home.
