If you love taking the family for a ride in the car to see some Christmas lights, how about five miles with one million lights?

No matter where I have lived all my life, there has always been a place within driving distance to experience some great Christmas lights.

Last year, I took my son for the first time over to Fifth Third Ballpark to drive through and see the awesome display of Christmas lights.

When we lived in Indiana, there were two places I would go - there was a neighborhood just west of South Bend, in a town called Granger, that great Christmas lights on all the houses. There was another town south called Valparaiso that had a great neighborhood to drive through, as well.

Well this year, it looks like the little guy and I will be making a trip to Brooklyn, Michigan, home of the Michigan International Speedway, to see what they call Nite Lites.

According to MLive, Nite Lites begins on Thanksgiving night, November 26.

Families will be able to drive five miles through a Christmas light maze that includes a trip through pit road that will feature some race cars. Plus there are about 500 different displays that will be a part of your route.

The dates you can visit to see the Nite Lites display are November 26 to December 31. The fee is $25 per car 5:30 until 9 p.m. Sunday through Thursday. If you go on Friday or Saturday, the fee is $30 per car during the hours of 5:30 until 10 p.m.

Depending on how many are visiting the day you visit, you should plan on about a 30 to 45 minute drive through the Christmas light display.
