2016’s GRD Pond Hockey Classic Cancelled Due to Poor Ice Conditions

Unfortunately, we've had to cancel the WGRD Pond Hockey Classic that was scheduled to take place at Richmond Hills Park February 12-14, 2016. 

The weather these past 10 days has had a dramatic effect on the ice conditions. Thin ice and open water around the edges of Richmond Hills Pond have made the pond unsafe for participants and pedestrians.

Even with a favorable below average forecast for the weekend, we feel as though it is unsafe to have hundreds of players and spectators on the ice.

All player registrations will be fully refunded to the credit card with which they were purchased.

We had really hoped that the weather would work in our favor and are extremely disappointed that the event will not be taking place this weekend.
