Halloween or Hallowe’en (a contraction of its original title “All Hallows’ Evening”), also known as All Hallows’ Eve, is a yearly holiday observed around the world on October 31st.

Here is a quick list I put together of 10 things I like about Halloween.

#10 BUSHWICK BILL'S VERSE

Bushwick Bill's verse on "Mind Playing Tricks On Me" by Geto Boys takes place on Halloween, or so the rapper who lost an eye to a bullet thinks.  Bill's verse begins at the 3:28 mark of the video...

#9 - HALLOWEEN HAVOC

Halloween Havoc was a pro wrestling pay-per-view event produced annually by World Championship Wrestling from 1989 through 2000.  It was held at Joe Louis Arena in Detroit in 1994 and 1995 and I attended both shows.

1994 featured an undeniable main event of Hulk Hogan (with Jimmy Hart) defending his WCW World Heavyweight Championship inside a steel cage against Ric Flair (with Sensuous Sherri) with Mr. T as the Special Enforcer.

1995 included a Sabu match, which I totally marked out for because he came to the ring with The Sheik...

#8 HAUNTED HOUSES

Fear is a powerful thing.  It is an unpleasant emotion that nobody enjoys, unless it's October.  There is a tradition in the weeks leading up to October 31st of people paying money and waiting in line to enter a building in which they hope to be frightened by other people dressed as monsters and ghouls.  Halloween is special because it takes a feeling like fear that usually sucks and flips it upside down to become something fun and enjoyable.  It's like making sad happy.  It's beautiful.

#7 VANILLA ICE

Rob Van Winkle, better known worldwide as Vanilla Ice, was born on October 31st, 1967.  His 1990 single, "Ice Ice Baby" was the first hip hop song to top the Billboard charts.  He is currently signed to Psychopathic Records.

His last album, W.T.F. (Wisdom, Tenacity and Focus), was released in 2011 and features appearances by Insane Clown Posse and Cowboy Troy.  A song with Kid Rock was also recorded but was never released.  [SOURCE]

The album includes the song "Born On Halloween" and if you like Halloween, you have to check this video out...

#6 COOL COPS

One thing I've noticed over the years is that the police are much better to deal with during the month of October.  It's the only month of the year where cops don't hassle me for having a mask and bloody hatchet in my truck.  In the other 11 months, they see that stuff, beat my ass, comb my truck for DNA and break out the luminol in my house.  Here's some other cool cops...

#5 HALLOWICKED

For the Insane Clown Posse, Halloween might as well be every day of the year, but they recorded a great song about the holiday called "Every Halloween".  Whoop-Whoop!

#4 MICHAEL MYERS

I've always loved the killer from the Halloween series of slasher films and the theme song is one of my all time favorite pieces of music.  Play it at my funeral, along with the theme to The Fall Guy.

#3 FIRST BRAIN

Yup, I got brain for the first time ever on Halloween night many years ago.  I contacted the girl a few days ago to see if she would be interested in being interviewed about it for this blog.  She politely declined and told me to "grow up."

#2 HALF NAKED GIRLS

Halloween is one time a year where a lot of girls like to dress super sexy in very skimpy costumes for parties.  Sometimes, girls don't dress up slutty, but instead dress up as something funny.  If you're on the fence between slutty or funny, you should go with slutty every time and here's why...

If you dress up as something really funny, you will be the hit of the party for about 5 to 10 minutes.  People will see your humorous costume and say, "Wow, look at her, that costume is hilarious."  Hours later, the laugh wears off, you just look stupid and nobody pays attention to you because the joke is already old.

Now, if you dress up super slutty, people will see you and say, "Wow, look how slutty that girl looks!  Damn she's sexy."  Hours later the same people will look at you and say, "Wow, look how slutty that girl looks!  Damn she's sexy."  Slutty trumps funny on Halloween.

#1 FREE CANDY

It goes without saying.  Was there any doubt what #1 would be?  Candy rules.

MERRY HALLOWEEN!!!
