Detroit Lions Fandom is Growing Outside of Michigan

There is no doubt that Michigan has many Detroit Lions fans. Most have waited a lifetime to see the Lions make the playoffs not once but twice in the past two years. It's truly an exciting time to be a Lions fan.

I have never seen as many Michiganders sporting this much Lions apparel in my entire life outside game days.

Lions fans are showing up in San Francisco, and Green Bay, and there were so many fans at the Dallas game the crowd almost sounded like it was a home game for Detroit.

Lions fans are not just popping up in other NFL stadiums some are coming from countries worldwide. Several Lions fans from London have been coming to games in Detroit and other cities. It is crazy the worldwide attention the Lions have been getting and it may get even bigger in 2025.

Will The Detroit Lions Play an NFL Game in Berlin in 2025?

In 2007, the NFL began hosting regular season games in other countries known as the International Series. Previously any NFL game outside of the country was an exhibition game. Games have been played in London, Toronto, Mexico City, Winnipeg, Germany, and Brazil.

According to WXYZ, the NFL will play its first-ever regular season game in Berlin, Germany, in 2025. This isn't the first time a regular season game has been played in Germany but the first time in Berlin at the Olympic Stadium.

The Olympic Stadium is a gorgeous historic stadium but how does the Detroit Lions fit into all this? The teams have not been announced yet but the Lion's name has been circulating heavily because the NFL awarded the team a Global Markets Program that included Austria, Canada, Switzerland, and Germany. The team has been heavily promoted in those 4 countries to continue the growth of the NFL worldwide. We will have to wait and see if the Lions get the call to head to Berlin.
