In all my years walking the face of this earth I have never seen chicken and egg prices so high and if it's not gas prices, what is causing the high prices?

Which Came First, the Chicken or the Egg?
You would think that since chickens lay eggs chicken would have come first but that's not the case according to scientists.
Amniotic eggs are air-breathing eggs that were developed 340 million years ago that came from junglefowl and evolved nearly 60,000 years ago. Sounds complicated but scientists are going with the egg coming first, but why are the egg prices so high when seem so plentiful and easy to obtain in today's world?
Why Are Chicken and Egg Prices So High Still?
High gas prices are not the cause of high chicken and egg prices. If gas prices were the cause, eggs, and chicken prices would certainly be going down because gas prices keep falling.
It's not the lack of chicken farmers because chicken farms are all over Michigan and in almost every state in the union.
So if chicken and egg prices are high and it's not because of gas prices or chicken farms, what is at the root of the increase? The supply chain? Sort of.
Bird Flu Is the Cause of High Egg and Chicken Prices
Even though the chicken and turkey farmers learned a ton about the bird flu of 2015, they were unable to stop the bird flu from ravaging several farms across Michigan and the rest of the country.
According to WOOD, in Michigan and in 46 other states nearly 60 million chickens had to be slaughtered in order to stop the spread of the 2022 bird flu. The bird flu issue isn't slowing down anytime soon which means egg and chicken prices won't be going down in the immediate future.
