What Does West Mi Think About the Lions Win Over the Chiefs?
I know it was only one game for the Detroit Lions, but come on, they beat last year's Super Bowl champs in Kansas City, and here's what West Michigan had to say about it.
Detroit Lions Vs. Kansas City Chiefs
It's not easy for any team in the NFL to take on the former Super Bowl Champions for the first game of the season in their stadium for a road game but that is how the Detroit Lions began for 2023.
In a game where every sports analyst had the Kansas City Chiefs beating the Lions, Detroit did the unthinkable and won the game 21-20. Not only did they beat the Chiefs, but they kept quarterback Patrick Mahomes from scoring a touchdown in the second half and that was no easy task.
I worked late and had the game on in the studio and I have never been so nervous, excited, in shock, and proud all at the same time watching a Detroit Lions game before. I have been a lifelong fan and it has been a tough journey since I have been burned so many times before I had trouble believing the Lions curse was finally behind us. I believe anything is possible now but I was curious as to what others in West Michigan had to say.
What West Michigan Thinks About the Lions Win Over the Chiefs
I put a thread on Facebook and asked the people of West Michigan to comment on the Lion's victory over the Chiefs (feels so good to say that) and most were excited. Others are still skeptical since it was only one game because they know the history of the Lions.
In the next thread below you will see more of the skepticism from football fans since it was only one game.
What I loved most about some of these posts was that there is hope for the Detroit Lions and hope for the fans.
The Lion's win over the Chiefs may not lead to a Super Bowl appearance...YET... it was a big win and feels good, so let's all enjoy the moment and hope this is the beginning of the best football season ever. GO LIONS!
