Many use their hand as a map and even call a region of the Lower Peninsula the "Thumb." If you are a tourist at Mackinac Island the locals refer to you as a "Fudgie."
We can't forget the "Michigan Left" where drivers turn right, then make a U-turn to go left. Calling a hot dog a "Coney" and referring to soda as "Pop. If you want to get some beers go to the "Party Store." These are just a few of the many phrases Michiganders use.
