Competitive Eater Crushes West Michigan Restaurant’s 6 Smash Burger Challenge
How good at smashing smash burgers are you? Maybe you're thinking, I could down one no problem, heck, maybe two. But what about six half-pound smash burgers stacked against you in one sitting? A West Michigan restaurant that very challenge going on,, and I’m just now learning about it.

I’m pretty familiar with a well-known truck stop diner in West Michigan. I’ve eaten there multiple times and loved it, and the spot has actually earned a lot of national attention over the years. It’s been named the best truck stop diner in Michigan and has also been recognized as one of the best road trip restaurants in the state on more than one occasion.

The Six Pack Smash Burger Challenge
That restaurant is the 76th Street Truck Stop Diner in Byron Center. And now, it’s making headlines again thanks to its “Six Pack Smash Burger Challenge.”
A competitive eater decided to take it on. Kyle Hanney, a Michigan native better known online as Kyle Can Eat across TikTok, Instagram, and YouTube, recently stopped in to see what the challenge was all about.
A 30-Minute Time Limit
Kyle, who has already taken on countless food challenges across the state, says he was given 30 minutes to finish all six smash burgers. That’s a serious mountain of beef to take down in one sitting.

But he didn’t need anywhere near that long.
Finished in Under 12 Minutes
He finished the entire challenge in just 11 minutes and 54 seconds, blowing past the time limit and locking in another win.

With that performance, Kyle earned his spot on the restaurant’s social media wall of fame and even took home a T-shirt. It also marked his 53rd official challenge victory overall.
Think you could take on the 76th Street Truckstop’s burger challenge? Or maybe something a little different like a massive burrito is more your speed.
Not long ago, Kyle also tackled a Grand Rapids restaurant’s six-pound burrito challenge, adding yet another win to his growing list.
