Slipknot's M. Shawn Crahan has built a resume over the past few years directing music videos, but he's now graduating to directing a feature film with the upcoming release of Officer Downe. A new trailer for the film has surfaced ahead of the Nov. 18 release and you can view it above.

The movie stars Kim Coates of Sons of Anarchy fame in the titular role, as a police officer in a high crime town who keeps resurrecting to take on the criminal element. Alison Lohman and Tyler Ross are also among the stars of the film. The movie was adapted from a graphic novel of the same name by authors Joey Casey and Chris Burnham.

Crahan recently told Full Metal Jackie, "I think what attracted me first and foremost was the fact that I had the ability to take something so challenging and bring it to a world that I understand because the people that worship graphic novels, comic books, and superheroes, or anything in that world, when people love it that can get taken away from them real quick in the movie. So, I love the challenge and I’m really interested to see what that society, that culture, thinks of it because I know what it’s like to have things taken away from you. To have a character that you love more than anything and then someone gets their hands on it and they make it their own, which is always great in art, but art to me is 'we.' If they make it their own and they don’t make it for all of us it becomes a pretty bad thing. So, I think that was the biggest thing was, 'Wow, I’m gonna make a comic book and I really have a chance to blow this up.'"

As for Crahan's regular gig, Slipknot have a handful of dates remaining for the rest of 2016. See their stops here.
