Kevin Smith recently held a screening of his new movie "Yoga Hosers," with a Q&A afterwards. One audience member stepped up to the microphone to tell Kevin that he thought the movie sucked. Kevin was super cool about the whole thing, though. He basically said that opinions on movies vary, and he talked about how critics savaged "Clerks" and "Mallrats" when they came out.

He even defended the guy when people in the crowd got angry at him.  And when someone offered to remove him from the microphone, Kevin said,

Don't be ridiculous! This guy paid to see the movie! Each time I go up to bat, I do the exact same thing: I make the movie I want to see. Sometimes you want to see it too, and then sometimes you don't want to see it. This is one of those cases.

Smith then gave the guy his money back. He actually reached into his pocket, pulled out $40 and threw it down off the stage. The guy didn't want to take it, but Kevin said, "I can't think about somebody being that mad about a movie. Please, dude, take it."
