How to Win Weekend Tickets to the Upheaval Festival

The History of the Upheaval Festival

The very first Upheaval Festival was supposed to happen in 2020, but the COVID-19 pandemic forced its cancellation. Many of the bands like Disturbed, Staind, Chevelle, Skillet and others appeared in future Upheaval lineups.

2021 marked the first year the Upheaval Festival took place at Belknap Park in Grand Rapids that featured headliners Korn and Rob Zombie.

2022 featured headliners Breaking Benjamin and Disturbed along with Mudvayne, Three Days Grace and more.

2023 featured headliners Bring Me the Horizon and Falling in Reverse along with Lamb of God, Halestorm and more. This was the first time Falling in Reverse ever headlined a festival, and now they headline venues around the world.

2024 featured headliners Godsmack and Bad Omens along with Killswitch Engage, Beartooth and more. Godsmack was almost a headliner the previous year but very glad they were able to do the show in 2024 since that was the last time the main line up performed together in Grand Rapids.

2025 featured headliners Rob Zombie and Falling in Reverse along with Architects, Wage War and more.

The Upheaval Festival has had a huge impact on Grand Rapids and will continue to rock fans in 2026.

Upheaval Festival 2026 Set for a Big Belknap Park Return

The Upheaval Festival returns to Belknap Park on July 17 and 18. As you see in the graphic above, Papa Roach will be one of the headliners for 2026. During the festival fans will also see Bilmuri, Jinjer, Zero 9:36, Silly Goose, and many more to come.

A second wave of bands for Upheaval has been announced that includes Poppy, Story of the Year, Set It Off, Landmurks, and Thousand Below. If you would like to find out what day each band is playing on, click here.

Gojira has been announced as Friday's headliner. Other bands announced are Magnolia Park, Dying Wish, Bones UK, Kingdom Collapse, and Autumn Kings. There are still 14 more bands to be announced.
