Ukrainians In Grand Rapids Urge You to Make Donations For Humanitarian Relief
The Russian invasion of Ukraine is pushing people from their homes and supplies are desperately needed. Local Ukrainians are helping in West Michigan and you can too.
I couldn't imagine being forced out of my home because another country was invading my country, my city, and my home. I also couldn't imagine having to worry about my parents hiding in the woods to escape the invaders and having to worry about their safety.
Ukrainians in West Michigan
Ukrainians that live in West Michigan have been trying to find ways to help people in their homeland of Ukraine with some humanitarian relief. Sending supplies to Ukraine is difficult but something that needs to be done.
There are Ukrainian families living here in West Michigan that has loved ones who are trying to flee the destruction of their own country. Finding food and medical supplies is very difficult for them and that is why families here are putting together their own fundraiser and putting matters into their own hands to make sure supplies get where they need to.
According to WOOD, Veronika Pluene who is a Ukrainian woman in Grand Rapids along with her sister has teamed up to help her family and others in Ukraine. The two have been ordering medical supplies and encouraging others to do so via social media.
Pluene has put together an Amazon gift registry so others could donate to the cause. This will also ensure that those in need of supplies will know where to receive it once it is shipped.
