There are rules about when college coaches can begin speaking with high school athletes. In most college sports, coaches can begin reaching out to athletes starting June 15 after sophomore year or September 1 of their junior year of high school. There are rules about when a coach or athlete can contact one another by phone. In a lot of cases, college coaches have phone conversations with the high school coach to get the ball rolling. When any of these rules are broken and if caught, there can be penalties to the college coaches who break them.

We have been hearing about some conduct from the University of Michigan head football coach Jim Harbaugh about allegedly lying to and misleading investigators looking into Level II recruiting violations. Harbaugh will not be on the sidelines for the first 3 Michigan games of the 2023 season.

Harbaugh's suspension allows him to be a practice for the next 3 weeks but he is not allowed anywhere near the team or field on game day. Harbaugh has enlisted defensive coordinator Jesse Minter to coach the East Carolina game. The UNLV game will have two head coaches which are special-teams coordinator/safeties coach Jay Harbaugh and running backs coach/run game coordinator Mike Hart. Harbaugh will do the first half and Hart the second half.

This is a tricky one here, Michigan offensive coordinator Sherrone Moore is suspended for the first game of the season for violating NCAA rules but will return to serve as head coach when the Wolverines take on Bowling Green in game 3.

Coach Harbaugh better be doing some praying for these first 3 games because this was the year the Wolverines were hoping to get that National Championship. Along with praying, Harbaugh has even included his father Jack as assistant head coach and strength and conditioning coach Ben Herbert to act as associate head coach. Hopefully, this strategy works and it doesn't turn into too many cooks on the field.
