Travis Barker Gets New Tattoo in Memory of Foo Fighters’ Taylor Hawkins
The new body art is in the image of a hawk, the bird of prey Hawkins used as an emblem for his Taylor Hawkins and the Coattail Riders and often on the head of his bass drum before his unexpected death last month (March 25) at age 50.
Barker, the heavily tattooed blink-182 drummer and frequent pop collaborator, shared photos of his Taylor Hawkins tattoo process on Wednesday (April 13). The images showed Barker being accompanied by his fiancée, Kourtney Kardashian, as tattoo artist Mark Mahoney did the work on his foot. Barker also included a throwback pic of him and Hawkins.

"HAWK forever," Barker captioned the six-photo set on Instagram, including an emoji for a bald eagle and tagging Mahoney.
Over the last three weeks, memorials from across entertainment have celebrated Hawkins. Machine Gun Kelly, Paul McCartney, Perry Farrell and Chad Smith are a few of the many rockers who saluted him. Even U.S. First Lady Dr. Jill Biden joined in the praise. Remembering Foo Fighters frontman Dave Grohl's past words about Hawkins, the bandleader once said it was "love at first sight" when he met the drummer.
But Hawkins wasn't just a Foo Fighter. Previously, he backed Alanis Morissette and Sass Jordan. Later, he led The Coattail Riders, Chevy Metal and Birds of Satan. Last year, he co-founded the rock supergroup NHC with Jane's Addiction's Dave Navarro and Chris Chaney.
The cause of Hawkins' death is still being determined after he was found dead in his hotel room in Colombia before the Foos were to play the Festival Estereo Picnic. A preliminary toxicology report showed he had 10 different substances in his system, but it's unclear if or how they contributed to his death.
Barker and Kardashian got engaged last year after a courtship that saw him and the star socialite become a celebrity media staple. The pair recently had a wedding ceremony but aren't yet legally hitched.
