Top 10 Christmas Movies People Are Watching in Michigan
Some Michiganders have a Christmas tradition of watching a particular holiday movie and here are the top 10 for Michigan families.

My Christmas movie traditions have changed over the years. As a kid, I was a big fan of A Charlie Brown Christmas and watched it for several years even into adulthood until they stopped playing it on regular TV.
I moved on to A Christmas Story for several years and will occasionally watch it.
Home Alone was a big one for me and it is still fun to watch but what do the rest of the Michiganders prefer to watch for their Christmas movie?
Top 10 Christmas Movies People Are Watching in Michigan
#10 The Polar Express
The Polar Express story was partially set in Grand Rapids, Michigan, so I figured this would be further up on the list of Christmas movies for Michiganders.
#9 Miracle on 34th Street
Miracle on 34th Street is the first Christmas classic when it comes to holiday movies. I have to admit, I have never made it through this movie without falling asleep. I have a feeling that in a few years, this may be one movie that will fall off the list but if you like classic you may want to see it and see if you can stay awake.
#8 How the Grinch Stole Christmas
How the Grinch Stole Christmas has been an all-time family favorite since 2000. The movie starred Jim Carrey as the Grinch. I still prefer the cartoon version but I have to admit that when I was a little kid, the Grinch kind of creeped me out.
#7 Love Actually
The movie "Love Actually" is a head-scratcher for me because I had never heard of it until I saw this list. If you are into romantic comedies then this movie may be for you but for many Michiganders it's a movie they love.
#6 A Christmas Story
A Christmas Story is one of my all-time favorite holiday movies probably because it was set closer to the time I grew up and my family but this is one that definitely will get some laughs from the family. I thought this movie would be higher on the list for Michiganders since it's based in the Midwest.
#5 Home Alone
I thought for sure Home Alone would be number 1 or number 2 on the list of favorite movies for Michiganders but it's still a classic and a great movie for the whole family to enjoy.
#4 It's A Wonderful Life
It's a Wonderful Life starring legendary actor Jimmy Stewart is one of the great holiday classics. The movie is filled with life lessons but I have to admit as a kid, when I would visit either set of grandparents, if this was on TV, we had to sit through it.
#3 Elf
Actor Will Ferrell starred in the movie Elf which came out in 2003. Ferrall plays a character named Buddy who thinks he's an elf but finds out he's not. It is a fun movie for the whole family and a movie that I thought would have been 1 or 2 for Michiganders.
#2 A Christmas Carol
What started as a book written by Charles Dickens in 1843 and would become a Christmas classic in literature became the story for several movies and cartoons. Maybe the reason the movie about Scrooge is so high on the list is because there are 16 movies and TV shows based on the Dickens classic.
#1 Home Alone 2: Lost in New York
This was the shocker that came in at number one, Home Alone 2: Lost in New York. I have to be honest, I didn't know they made a Home Alone 2, and maybe others didn't know that either and that is why it was searched so much on Google.
Here is the list of the top 10 Christmas movies for Michiganders. Like me, you probably have your version of this list. The list was put together by casinos.com which made one for each state based on Google trends.
