Tool's return has brought a lot of people together -- fathers and sons, and yes, even rock icons and guys who don't recognize them.

Eddie Van Halen decided to venture down to the Staples Center in Los Angeles Monday night (Oct. 21) to catch rock and metal's reigning band with his son Wolfgang Van Halen, but the two musicians went unrecognized by a fan at the show who turned and asked them if they'd take a photo of him at the show.

Wolfgang found humor in the moment, posting a shot of his dad taking the photo for the fan. "A guy asked my dad if he could take a picture of him with the stage behind him, having no idea who he just asked, and that was my favorite moment from the @Tool show last night," laughed the younger Van Halen.

While that moment was no doubt a highlight for the Van Halen offspring, he did also enjoy the show and took a few snaps to share with his online followers. "Tool was phenomenal (as always) last night," added Wolfgang.

The elder Van Halen has been mostly out of the public eye in recent years after their tour and album that featured David Lee Roth and Wolfgang taking over on bass for Michael Anthony. While there were rumors of a potential Van Halen tour earlier this year, they did not come to fruition and rumors have circulated about Eddie's health.

However, the guitarist has been spotted out over the past week, posing for a photo with a fan at a McLaren dealership in Beverly Hills and now this photo at Monday's Tool show.
