Three Michigan Cities Named Best Places to Live in 2025
U.S. News recently released their annual list of the top 25 cities to live in America and Michigan made the list 3 times. The list is based on the quality of life from how residents are satisfied with their daily lives while factoring in crime, health care, education, and commute time. Let's find out the top 3 cities in Michigan named to have the best quality of life.
#3 Grand Rapids
Grand Rapids could easily be number one on this list but I live here so I'm biased. I was shocked that Beer City landed in at number 20 on the overall list. The city has such much to offer from events, art, craft breweries, the Grand River, access to great education at all levels, and close to Lake Michigan, and hundreds of outdoor activities. Definitely a great place to raise a family.
#2 Kalamazoo
Kalamazoo came in at 17 on the list of top 25 cities in the U.S. with a great quality of life. With its theaters, museums, live music, sports, craft breweries, and all kinds of events for families to attend, you can see why the city is on the list. One big attracter to Kalamazoo is the cities promise to provide free college tuition and fees for graduates of Kalamazoo Public Schools.
#1 Ann Arbor
Kudos to the city of Ann Arbor! They were not just the number one city for quality of life in Michigan but the entire United States. Lots of rolling hill in Ann Arbor with a great balance of city and rural all mixed together. From the University of Michigan to the public school system big bang for your buck when it comes to education. The job market is diverse, crime rate is low, and you can't walk 10 feet without running into one of the cities parks.
