Late last week, it was revealed by TMZ that the members of The Used had taken out a restraining order against former guitarist Justin Shekoski after the musician had allegedly made threats of violence against the group and himself. The band has now addressed those reports.

The band issued their statement via social media, citing "personal and artistic differences" for their split with the guitarist earlier this year. And with the details of some of the threats made public with the reporting of the restraining order, they also guide those dealing with suicidal thoughts to seek out help through the National Suicide Prevention Lifeline.

Their statement on the matter can be read below:

Due to personal and artistic differences, Justin is no longer the guitar player for The Used. As a band we strive for an honest transparent connection with our fans. Despite the sensationalism and immoral reporting of media publications that we had nothing to do with, we as a band had to take the proper legal precautions. The safety of our fans, crew and fellow band members is our biggest priority. Even and especially in the toughest times, the threat of suicide should never be taken lightly. We ask that you respect the privacy of everyone involved during this process. If you or someone you love is struggling with suicidal thoughts, please contact the National Suicide Prevention Lifeline at 1-800-273-8255.

With Shekoski's exit from the band, the group has been using Hell or Highwater's Joey Bradford to handle guitar duties on their recent touring. Stay up to date with all of The Used's touring right here.
