It’s been some time since we’ve checked in on The Office’s Jim and Pam, let alone those sweet early days of getting drunk at Chili’s. Thankfully, one national nightmare has finally come to a close, as a bit of fun from star Jenna Fischer finally got the chain restaurant to drop its longtime ban against Pam. Sleep easy, America!

The joke began with a selfie snapped by Fischer outside of a Chili’s restaurant, alluding to her character having been banned from the restaurant for drunken antics in 2005 Season 2 premiere “The Dundies”:

Never one to decline a good PR opportunity, Chili’s responded in kind with an official press release announcing that the ban had been lifted:

Effective immediately, Chili’s Grill & Bar has removed the longstanding ban on a Scranton, Pennsylvania woman who allegedly caused a disturbance during a company awards party held at a Chili’s near the Pennsylvania town of Scranton.

The woman, Pam Beesly Halpert, received a prestigious award for having the whitest sneakers in the company.

After thanking her shoes and coworkers, the woman declared, “I feel God in this Chili’s tonight.”

“After reviewing the good conduct of Pam, I have decided to lift the now 11-year ban,” said Kelli Valade, President of Chili’s. “Pam is an inspiration to many and we welcome her with open arms.”

Fischer was of course game to continue the reference, as was co-star John Krasinski:

Impressively, this isn’t the only time in recent weeks that Office stars have cause a bit of commotion in the media, as series lead Steve Carell played off Will and Grace news with a potential Office revival joke, only to immediately walk it back.

In the meantime, keep dreaming of that Office revival to check in on Jim and Pam again, brought to you by Chili’s.
