New Sicilian Style Pizza Joint Opens in Grand Rapids
Looking for a new place to grab a slice? A new restaurant serving up Sicilian style dishes is open in Grand Rapids.
It was definitely a bummer when Brick Road Pizza closed after 13 years in business in early 2022. But now we have a new pizza joint to replace it - and the owner has a lot of experience in the GR restaurant scene.
Testa Rossa Pizzeria is the new concept from the owner of Electric Cheetah, which is right next door to the former site of Brick Road Pizza. Cory DeMint also owns Uncle Cheetah's Soup Shop and The Old Goat.
Testa Rossa Pizzeria is currently in its soft opening phase at 1017 Wealthy St SE.
On the soft opening menu you'll find appetizers like fresh bread and oil and tomato and burrata. Salads include Caesar and Caprese.
Hoagies include meatball and vegan sausage. For pasta, your current options are spaghetti and meat and manicotti.
Wood-fired pizza options include:
- Testa Rossa - pepperoni, salami, chili flake, Mozzarella blend
- New Jersey - gently sweetened tomato sauce, parmesan, basil,
- Spinach Funghi - mushrooms, spinach, Mozarella blend, bechamel, parmesan
- Salsica - vegan sausage, mushroom, roasted red peppers, vegan cheese
You also have the option to build your own, choosing from a variety of meats and cheeses.
And you can't forget dessert!
Current options include tiramisu, lemon cake, and chocolate chip or pistachio cannoli.
Check out the rest of Testa Rossa's soft opening menu here.
Soft opening hours are 4p.m. to 9p.m.
The new restaurant also plans to offer live music.
