On December 14, 1836, the Toledo War unofficially ended which granted the Toledo Strip to Ohio while Michigan acquired the timber and ore-rich upper peninsula.
The tree is currently on the property of the Hampton Inn Marquette Waterfront but is needing to be removed, and they're hoping someone could use it this year for Christmas.
