throwback thursday

I have been a fan of Mushroomhead for years! The first time that I ever saw them was way before I worked at WGRD. I never thought in a million years that I would work my way up to where I am today and eventually interview them.

It's crazy to think that I have made so many of these episodes already! I know it's not much of a Throwback Thursday, but I can't help but look back at all of my videos of This Level Sucks and smile.

When I was younger, like around 2006, I was in a band called Groundswitch. At the time, Pop Punk was pretty popular, easy to play, and was easy to write for. So why not create a Pop Punk band right? Chicks seemed to dig it! Plus I was balls deep into Green Day's 'American Idiot' so I was heavily inspired by that. Today, 9 years ago, was the final day of my first ever band.

I have only been in one or two bands, and both of them were a lot of fun. Someday I hope to be in a new one! When will that happen? I have no freakin' clue, but I hope within the next couple years. In the meantime, time to reflect on one of my fond memories of my old band named 'The Drunk I Love You's'

Living in a dorm room can either be a lot of fun or a living nightmare. Fortunately I was one of those few that loved my roommates, and we all continue to be friends to this day. While our friendships grew, so did the mildew and gross-ness of our dorm room shower.

Thank you TimeHop app for making Throwback Thursday WAY easier! This is really hard to believe that this was 7 years ago. I was touring my Facebook to find out that WGRD Vet Lynae posted a TimeHop pic. I can remember this day like it was yesterday!

Lately at WGRD, we have been doing our High School Athlete of the Week. This past week, the recognized individual was from Kenowa Hills, which happens to be my alma mater! It was cool to see someone from my old school collide with my career. Which brought my back to my high school days, and dug up this old picture.

This weekend is the big Volbeat/Five Finger Death Punch/Hellyeah/Nothing More show at the Deltaplex, and I'm really excited about this show! Even though I've never been a huge Scorpions fan, though I do enjoy their music, I've somehow seen them a bunch of times in concert, and managed to meet them a couple of times. Here's the first time I met them...sometime in the early 90's.  They always put of a great show, and sound fantastic, and they have always been really nice people to meet.
