Tool has been working on new music, albeit slowly, and it's very hard to wait for the new stuff. People are always asking when there's going to be new Tool music out, and there's not much to tell, until they give us an update. So, to help you pass the time until the next album is ready, here's some cool video from the recording sessions for the Undertow album back in 1992.
Pretty much every day, my shift starts with the same set of prep steps to make the GRD studio habitable for a few hours. From the time the Free Beer and Hot Wings show is over, to the time I come in, things can go south pretty quickly. Not that Janna is to blame for any of it.
Today was the official ribbon cutting ceremony for the GRD Mapes Law Studio here in Grand Rapids, and the Free Beer and Hot Wings guys had Dr. Mapes in the studio to talk about his bad investing strategy, his bankrupty law practice, and seek help for 50 Cent.
You get to see the famous Mapes bow tie in all its glory, learn about some atrocious bankruptcy problems, and even watch the scissor fail to
Disturbed really kept the fact that they got back together a big secret, until last weekend, when they put up a countdown, and then dropped not only a new song, but a music video last week! You guys have been calling for 'The Vengeful One' a lot, which kicks ass.
Now, the band is releasing a multi-part web series on the making of the new album, 'Immortalized'.
In the first few seconds of this new behind the scenes video from Pop Evil, the guys let slip the new album's name! It's a surprising new album title, and completely different from the last few, like Onyx. This one will throw you for a bit of a loop, but it's actually pretty cool. Stick with the video, as they'll explain the name and more! Here it is, the new Pop Evil album title:
Five Finger Death Punch have set the title of their new album as 'Got Your Six', and it's due out later this year! They recorded it with Kevin Churko produced the album with them again, from his Las Vegas studio where they recorded this one.
It'll come out after they start their tour with Papa Roach, In This Moment, and From Ashes to New, which you can still vote to get Grand Rapids a show on! (I
Pop Evil moved their recording operation for the next album out to Seattle, to shake things up a bit, and create something new and exciting for us! We've had some special Grand Rapids messages from the guys in the studio, and as the time draws closer to the new album coming out, the band has got the first episode of the official making of the new album out!
The wait is finally over! Those of you who have been speculating on what the new Megadeth drummer's knee will look like, can now sit back and bask in the glory that is said knee, in action, rocking the double-kick-drum madness!
While this knee is a bit more hairy than I like my unclad knees (I prefer lady knees), what the knee is helping do sounds pretty freaking bad-ass, actually.
Shinedown hit its Twitter feed today to let everyone know that the band is officially four weeks into the recording of its fifth album, and that it should be out by the end of July, beginning of August!
Pop Evil are working hard on the new album, hoping to get it out as soon as they can this year, and are in the studio in Seattle recording even as I write this!
The guys have narrowed down the list of songs they've written to the ones they're going to focus on recording, and making sure they've got all the best stuff to finish.
I still can't believe it's been over ten years since we lost Dimebag. His contribution to music was so huge, and his playing was amazing, and he was always such a happy, fun guy.
It's interesting to see how the guy lived and worked, and now you can see more about his home and his studio, with this great tour by Guitar World!
