The Michigan DNR says power has been restored at Michigan state parks in the Upper Peninsula that had been without electric service since Thursday morning.
As of 4:30PM on Sunday, approximately 6,000 Consumers Energy customers remained without service from the Christmas Eve storm.
Now, nearly all customers have had power restored. If you are still without power, Consumers Energy is asking you to contact them.
How much power do you use every day? How much does the world use? Would it be possible to switch away from fossil fuels and go totally solar powered? Sure, you can cover your roof with panels, but you'd still have to be connected to the grid, so what's the solution?
Apparently, not as much (or as little) as you'd think! Or is it?

FRIDAY MORNING UPDATE: As of 4:30 a.m. Friday, 52,000 Consumers Energy customers were without electricity. Since noon Saturday, the winter storm caused more than 377,000 outages across Michigan.

Despite some extra efforts, Christmas is a powerless holiday for many in greater Grand Rapids and across West Michigan because of snow, cold and the lingering effects of a weekend ice storm, officials said Tuesday.
More than 152,000 electricity customers of Consumers Energy were without power headed into Tuesday evening.
Ice combined with snow has led to numerous power outages in West Michigan.
Since noon Saturday, more than 175,000 Consumers Energy customers have been affected by electricity outages in Michigan.
