February 27, 2016 marked the 20th anniversary of the Pokemon franchise. Part of the celebration included a flock/herd/summoning of Pikachu in Times Square and the greater Manhattan area. When a giant group of Pokemon march through New York City, you can't help but take notice... or try to catch one.

Pokemon fans were surprised to learn that the Pikachu in the upcoming Detective Pikachu game can talk, and now one Change.org petition wants Danny DeVito to voice everybody's favorite electric rodent.

As the biggest icon in the Pokemon franchise, it's not surprising that Pikachu is the main character of many Pokemon titles. But the new Great Detective Pikachu: The Birth of a New Duo trailer shows the electric mouse doing something a bit out of character: talking.

2016 is shaping up to be a huge year for Pokemon fans. In addition to the re-release of Pokemon Red and Blue, Nintendo will offer a New 3DS bundle, so even the latest of fans can get in on the Pokemon action.

Who's that Pokemon? Is it PIKACHU?!?! Not quite...
