Johnny Depp needs some public image rehabilitation, and badly. When it came out last year that he had physically abused former spouse Amber Heard, a dark and sickly pallor was cast over the heretofore beloved actor’s profile. It isn’t helping that he hasn’t been in a good movie since 2011 (Rango, though Verbinski’s follow-up The Lone Ranger has its supporters), and hasn’t been in a really profitable one since 2014’s Into the Woods. The guy has to save a little face if he wants to secure his future in this business, and what better way to do that than to play to the only demographic unaware of his unsavory personal life: the youth!
For many movie fans, international trailers are an afterthought, an attempt to repackage previously released footage for a new market. But given the popularity of the Pirates of the Caribbean movies abroad, it’s probably safe to say that Disney takes its international footage pretty seriously. After all, the previous film in the franchise, Pirates of the Caribbean: On Stranger Tides, grossed a total of $240 million domestically and $804 million internationally. Put another way: the film failed to make back its budget ($250 million) in the United States but tripled it abroad.
The people have been making some pretty questionable choices for themselves as of late. Some big politics thing is happening tomorrow, there’s that, and last night marked the 43rd Annual People‘s Choice Awards, the populist awards program that does away with the snooty prestige of the Oscars. The evening delivered some rather eyebrow-raising results in its recognition of the most widely beloved entertainers of the year, and though none quite confounded on a Trumpian level, the night was full of what we’ll diplomatically call “surprises.”
Every year, Forbes releases rankings of the highest-paid and highest-grossing actors around the world, but their most interesting list comes a little later in the year when the publication unveils their annual rundown of the most overpaid actors in Hollywood. Unsurprisingly, Johnny Depp’s name tops the list for the second year in a row — and yet, sadistic Hollywood executives just keep right on putting him and his big dumb hats in big budget blockbusters.
Any series that traffics in severed heads long enough will invariably get creative with their molds, as did a recent Walking Dead episode that saw Johnny Depp’s face making an unexpected cameo. Well, purveyor of all weird memorabilia, Norman Reedus evidently kept the celebrity trophy for himself.
Weren’t pleased with Johnny Depp’s Boston gangster? Underwhelmed by his continual attempts to charm you with makeup-clad characters? Too bad, because Depp’s latest role takes character acting to the next level, finding him playing the ultimate character: Donald Trump.
Johnny Depp continues to show everyone he's a cool dude, and now he's on stage rocking with KISS, Extreme, and GNR guys to help raise money to get children corrective surgeries! They performed in Hollywood on Sunday night to raise money for Mending Kids, that helps provide corrective surgeries for kids with heart defects, cranial deformities, severe scoliosis, and more.
That kicks a LOT of ass!

If I was a famous person like Johnny Depp, I think I would try to do this kind of thing every year.
Dressed up as his signature character Captain Jack Sparrow, actor Johnny Depp visited a local Australian Hospital and brought smiles to some kids faces.
