A West Michigan teenager has literally beaten cancer. Fox 17 reports that Helen DeVos Children's Hospital held a special ceremony in which 17-year-old Henry Dai smashed a 3D replica of his tumor with a sledge hammer. Henry was diagnosed with lymphoma in August and since then has undergone extensive chemotherapy, which ultimately shrunk and eliminated the tumor in his chest...

One of Grand Rapids' most recognizable figures passed away yesterday at the age of 90. Helen DeVos, wife of Amway founder Richard DeVos and namesake of the Helen DeVos Children's Hospital, passed away Wednesday, October 18th.

Last week I sported my Wonder Woman Costume at Helen Devos Children's Hospital here in Grand Rapids. While I was there I had a special request to escort a young girl to one of her treatments because she was nervous. This girls name was Lola. Lola has leukemia and was a very impressive little girl.
