Daylight Saving Time

The countdown to Daylight Saving Time is on in Michigan.

On Tuesday, the Senate voted unanimously to pass a bill to make daylight saving time permanent. This could mean no more "springing forward" or "falling back"!

Your weekend is going to be a little longer this week! It’s that time of year again -- change the clocks and “fall back” one hour.

The majority of Americans need one to three days to adjust to the time change.

This weekend the weather will start to cool down and we "spring forward" with our clocks.

This Saturday night is going to be a busy one! It will be Halloween, there will be a full moon. and we "Fall Back" and move the clocks back one hour.

Right now in Michigan we're scheduled to come off Daylight Saving Time right after Halloween on Sunday, November 1. But what do you think of Michigan staying on Daylight Saving Time all year? There are eleven states including Texas, Oklahoma, Kansas and now Florida trying to stay on Daylight Saving Time all year, pending government approval...

Sunday we spring forward as we start Daylight Saving Time, but can't we just stay in the moment. (sorry I wanted the pun)

If this bill becomes law, we wouldn't "spring forward" or "fall back" anymore.

Rep. Michele Hoitenga, R-Manton, introduced a new House Bill that would eliminate the bi-annual time change for Michigan.

LaughFest officially kicks off this weekend. It is also opening weekend for the John Ball Zoo. We also have the Women’s Expo, KISS, Fish Fries, Hockey, Pirates, and a free day at the Grand Rapids Public Museum. Also, remember to turn your clocks AHEAD one hour this weekend.

This weekend we have a lot of Sporting Events, Music, Video Games, Photographs, Holiday Gifts, an Ethnic Heritage Festival, a Healing Body, Mind & Spirit Expo, a .1K Race for Charity...and the weekend is an hour longer because of the time change! (Don’t forget to set your clocks back an hour Sunday morning!)
