As the Michigan Department of Health & Human Services declares that the state is currently in the 'Post-Surge & Recovery Phase' of Covid 19, mask recommendations are being updated.
As students have returned to in-person learning across West Michigan, many districts are now dealing with Covid outbreaks. Local health departments have been monitoring the situations across the area, but on Monday one local school board defied Health Department recommendations while cases surge in their local district.
Grand Rapids Public Schools are set to begin classes on August 24 and the district is updating families on its CoVid recommendations. The Michigan Department of Health and Human Services released new guidance heading into the school year.
