Boston Marathon

Michigan native Desiree Linden has won the women's division of the 2018 Boston Marathon.

Grand Rapids native and Rockford High School graduate, Dathan Ritzenhein had a strong showing in the 119th Boston Marathon, finishing in seventh place Monday afternoon, WZZM-13 reported.

Meb Keflezighi won the Boston Marathon, becoming the first American to do so since 1983. The women's race saw Rita Jeptoo, of Kenya, set a new course record.

On April 15, 2013, two bombs exploded near the finish line of the Boston Marathon, killing three people and injuring more than 260. On Tuesday, the city of Boston commemorated the event with a brief ceremony on Boylston Street.
