A microbrewery, Brass Ring Brewing Company, is set to open in Fall 2017 in the Alger Heights neighborhood.

My friend down in KZoo, John Mason, would have you think that Kalamazoo is REALLY Beer City USA, through some faulty, beer goggle logic. I have to hand it to him, he really tried to use a legit argument, that whole "Percent By Volume" thing. And, if you were to look at life only as a college freshman, that would be winning math.

The website, Infogroup, looked at metro cities in the U.S. and ranked the top 10 cities for beer and wine. Two cities in Michigan made the top 5 for beer.

There is no college or university in the country that owns a brewery... until now... and it's right here in Grand Rapids! Grand Rapids Community College is set to debut Fountain Hill Brewery and Peter's Pub today (Friday, 9/23). According to GRCC's website they are the first college that is licensed to own and operate a brewery...

No, that's not a typo. Grand Rapids did rank among the top 10 in Redfin's "Top 15 City's for Beer Lovers" list; but we only nabbed the No.4 position, not No. 1. Huh? What cities could have possibly beaten out Beer City USA?

County Health Rankings has released their annual report which ranks counties in Michigan. This week, we are looking at what we learned about West Michigan from the report. First, binge drinking in Michigan. Kent County has one of the highest rates in Michigan.
