As part of ArtPrize 2021, the public will have a direct say in who gets a share of the $250,000 in prize money. In past ArtPrize events, where the West Michigan public and visitors would vote, the votes would be used to narrow down choices for expert jurors to then pick winners.
Touted as the world's largest art competition, the event was slated to celebrate its twelfth year in 2020. Instead, it won't be happening and, according to a release, organizers are planning to, "take time to evaluate the possibility of future events."
