Long before the current and very successful Pure Michigan tourism advertising campaign, Michigan touted its tourism opportunities with other campaigns you might remember.

Check out this photo. Looks pretty normal to see on your Instagram feed, right? And if you're a gluten-free vegan, you're especially excited about this photo. But when you look a little closer, that's when things go south. Literally.

Budweiser is putting it's famous Clydsdale's ad out to pasture this Christmas season. Apparently horses aren't "in" this year. The long-running holiday campaign, in which a camera follows the majestic, giant horses pulling a wagon through the snow, has aired every December since 1987.

Compared to today, the 1960s were a weird time. Things that just wouldn't fly today were commonplace back then. Take, for instance, this TV commercial for both a Ford Mustang AND a Post cereal called Rice Krinkles.
