The Avalanche Tour came strolling into Grand Rapids Saturday night (April 14) for a packed house at The Orbit Room. Contrary to the tour name, the night was hot, sweaty and sold out thanks to Shinedown, Adelitas Way and Art of Dying. Check out our photo gallery from the show.

Art of Dying kicked things off with a blistering set. The Vancouver, Canada band's high energy set the pace for the rest of the night. Las Vegas, Nevada rockers Adelitas Way continued to keep the crowd in a frenzy with songs from their latest album, Home School Valedictorian. Frontman Rick DeJesus was telling me before the show that feeding off of his band is what keeps him going.

As great as Adelitas Way and Art of Dying were, the band everyone came to see in the end was Shinedown, and boy did they deliver. The foursome didn't hold anything back as they launched into an intense performance of "The Sound of Madness". Shinedown went through a barrage of hits from their previous three albums while also mixing in tracks from the latest release, Amaryllis.

My favorite part of the night was their goosebumps-inducing cover of Lynyrd Skynyrd's "Simple Man".

See what you missed or re-live the night if you were too drunk to remember.
