Raising Cane’s Expanding in Michigan – Grand Rapids Location Coming Soon
Earlier this month, residents in Canton were ecstatic to get their taste buds on Raising Canes after the fast food company opened its second location in the state of Michigan. Well, ecstatic might be an understatement. People were lined up before the sun was up, and even after the doors opened, the line continued for hours. To say the opening was a success is an understatement.

In fact, despite this only being the second location in the state, Raising Cane's was to quick to announce that Lansing and Detroit are only the beginning, and Raising Cane's will soon spread all across the state, including Grand Rapids.

For Michiganders, Raising Cane's might not sound familiar, but the chicken finger chain has been a hit in the South since it opened in 1996. In fact, 2024 was the best year on record for the chain after it opened 118 restaurants in one year.

The restaurant started 2025 off with its expansion in Michigan. East Lansing had been the only city in Michigan with a location since it opened in 2022, but now the chain is expected to spread like wildfire across the state. Ann Arbor will see a location open in June.
In an interview with MLive, the chain confirmed it has plans to open a location in Grand Rapids along with 19 other restaurants around Michigan in the next decade.
When Chick-fil-A opened its first location in Kentwood back in 2016, traffic was backed up on M-6 for days on end. West Michigan definitely has a hankering for some good chicken, so it will be interesting to see how the community responds when Raising Cane's arrives sometime in the near future.
